The Council of Europe and EJTA consolidate their partnership and organise an international educational event for students and staff of EJTA schools in Porto.
With the partnership both parties want to strengthen future journalists’ knowledge and understanding of the mandate and important realisations of the Council of Europe, in order to prepare EJTA journalism students to report on the Organisation. The cooperation also brings an extra angle to EJTA pedagogical projects and enhances journalism students’ understanding of important transversal democracy themes such as equality, diversity, human rights, freedom of expression and sustainability.
The 2024 edition of the international educational event will take place in Porto on Friday 10 May 2024 at the campus of the University of Porto. It exists out of two parts: an informative session about the Council of Europe by an Organisation’s representative and a masterclass on ‘How to build trust in the news’ by EJTA Board member Prof. Tiko Tsomaia.
EJTA staff participating in the EJTA Teachers’ Training and students from the University of Porto will be invited live.
