1 June 2023 – A year ago, some of you attended a workshop on a research project about audience metrics, conducted by Artevelde University of Applied Sciences (UAS), during the EJTA Conference in Aarhus. Artevelde UAS is working on an educational tool to broaden journalists’ knowledge on audience metrics (pageviews, time on page, and scroll length). This tool also aims to stimulate the debate about journalists’ use of this type of data.
The research project has recently entered its final phase. The research team is developing a workshop on audience metrics while simultaneously working on a ‘debate game’ about audience metrics through the use of an iterative process. In the game the team tests their idea with end users in order to gain feedback, after which the feedback is used to ameliorate the end product.
For those who are interested, the researchers are more than willing to provide an update in which you will be given more details on the workshop and the game.
