The Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) in North Macedonia organizes the second annual international symposium, “Reclaiming the Digital Information Space,” within the USAID Media Literacy project “YouThink.” The event will be held online on February 23, 2023 starting at 09:30 am (CEST).
The event will feature speakers such as Irene Andriopoulou, Co-Secretary General of the International Steering Committee for UNESCO Media & Information Literacy Alliance, Paolo Celot, Founding member and Secretary General of EAVI, Jeff Share, Lecturer and Educator at UCLA, and Damaso Reyes, News Literacy Project’s International Consultant. They will discuss different approaches to studying key media literacy issues, how media literacy impacts society, as well as the role of media literacy in promoting civic engagement and digital citizenship.
The symposium is held as part of the USAID’s project on media literacy YouThink, implemented by IREX together with the Macedonian Institute for Media (MIM), the Institute of Communication Studies (ICS), and the Youth Educational Forum (YEF). YouThink activities are made possible by the support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
