CALL PROJECT GHENT

Research project about audience metrics by Artevelde University of Applied Sciences Ghent

A year ago, some of you attended a workshop on a research project about audience metrics, conducted by Artevelde University of Applied Sciences (UAS), during the EJTA Conference in Aarhus. As those present at the time remember, Artevelde UAS is working on an educational tool to broaden journalists’ knowledge on audience metrics, such as pageviews, time on page, and scroll length. That tool also aims to stimulate the debate about journalists’ use of this type of data.

The research project has recently entered its final phase. Now, the research team is developing a workshop on audience metrics while simultaneously working on a ‘debate game’ about audience metrics through the use of an iterative process (in which the team tests their idea with end users in order to gain feedback, after which the feedback is used to ameliorate the end product).

For those who are interested, the researchers are more than willing to provide an update in which you will be given more details on the workshop, the game, the process, etc.

Feel free to get in touch with the project manager, Tomas Ooms (tomas.ooms@arteveldehs.be).
